What a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear!

What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer!
Ele manda que levemos tudo a Deus em oração
O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear,
Oh! que paz perdemos sempre,  Oh! que dor no coração! 
All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.
Só porque nós não levamos tudo a Deus em oração!

Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere?
Temos lidas e pesares e na vida tentação
We should never be discouraged; take it to the Lord in prayer.
Não ficamos sem conforto;  indo a Cristo em oração.
Can we find a friend so faithful who will all our sorrows share?
Haverá um outro amigo de tão grande compaixão? 
Jesus knows our every weakness; take it to the Lord in prayer.
Os contritos Jesus Cristo; sempre atende em oração.

Are we weak and heavy laden, cumbered with a load of care?
E se nós desfalecemos, Cristo estende-nos a mão,
Precious Savior, still our refuge; take it to the Lord in prayer.
Pois é sempre a nossa força; e refúgio em oração.
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee? Take it to the Lord in prayer!
Se este mundo nos despreza? Cristo é  nosso em oração!
In his arms he'll take and shield thee; thou wilt find a solace there.
Em Seus braços nos acolhe; e nos dá consolação.
